Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College Vikings (3-5) were defeated by Suffolk Community College, 10-2 (Game 1) and 8-2 (Game 2) on Saturday (3/25). A 7-run 2nd inning by Suffolk was too much for Ocean to overcome in game one. Kurstin Binshedler went 1 for 3 with a triple and 1 RBI, and Monica Brignola hit a solo home run in the Vikings' defeat. In game two, the score was tied at 1 heading into the 7th inning, at which point Suffolk scored 7 runs. The Vikings added a run in the bottom of the inning, but came up short. Iris Torres went 2 for 3 with a run scored, and Monica Brignola was 2 for 4 in this game.
The Vikings head to Camden County College for their next two games, a doubleheader scheduled for Thursday (3/30) at 3:00 p.m.
