Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College Vikings Softball team ran into a tough County College of Morris team on Saturday afternoon (4/8), losing both games of their doubleheader, 15-0 (Game 1) and 16-7 (Game 2).
Vikings highlights are scant in the first game, as Morris lead by 11 runs at the close of the 3rd inning, before ending the game in the 5th with 15. Gabby Loffredo, Marissa Stadtmauer, Stephanie Healy and Kurstin Binshedler provided the Vikings' four hits in the contest.
The Vikings took time to regroup, and scored 7 runs in the second game, even leading 4-2 by the top of the 3rd, until Morris scored 7 runs in that inning, and 6 more in the top of the 7th to put the game out of reach and cinch the sweep. Marissa Stadtmauer contributed a 2-run single in the loss.
The Vikings return to action on Sunday (4/9), when they host Montgomery County Community College in a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader.
