Toms River, NJ - It was a day of highs and lows for OCC Vikings Softball on Sunday (3/18), as they overpowered GSAC rival Rowan College at Gloucester County in Game 1 of their doubleheader, 6-2, and were then beaten in turn in the second game to the tune of 14-2.
GAME 1 - Vikings pitcher Hailey Dries picked up her 1st conference win of the season, throwing 7 innings and allowing just 2 runs to score. Dries also assisted on offense, batting 2-3 with a double, 2 RBI, and a run scored. Sam Lanzano also went 2-3 with a double, triple, RBI, and run scored in the win.
GAME 2 - An 8-run 4th inning by RCGC sealed the proverbial deal in this matchup. Ocean sophomore Gabby Loffredo hit 2-2 with a walk and 2 runs scored in the loss.
The Vikings return to action on Saturday, March 24 when they visit PA's Montgomery County CC for a 12 p.m. doubleheader.
