Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College Softball (3-10) struggled against visiting Division 2 opponent Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC) on Tuesday (3/27), losing both games of a doubleheader by 14-5 and 7-2 final scores.
GAME 1: A 9-run 6th inning broke open a close game and led to a 14-5 OCC loss. Shea Branda and Sam Lanzano's back-to-back home runs in the 4th inning were an offensive highlight for Ocean.
GAME 2: The score was tied at 2 heading into the 6th inning when Burlington surged forward with a 5-run inning, leading to a 7-2 loss. Maggie McCarthy hit 3-4 with a single, double, triple and run scored, while Shea Branda went 1-3 with a triple and a run scored in the Ocean effort.
The Vikings will look to stop their slide and return to the win column on Thursday, March 29 when they host Camden County College in a conference doubleheader, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
