Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College Softball (4-10) pulled off a thrilling come-from-behind victory against conference rival Camden County College on Thursday (3/29) before an excited home crowd. Trailing the Cougars by one run heading into the bottom of the 7th inning, Ocean freshman Hailey Dries hit a game-tying sacrifice, which set up a game-winning double from sophomore Gabby Loffredo, securing a 7-6 win for the Vikings. Ocean's Sam Lanzano was also instrumental in the win, belting her 4th home run of the season in the win. In Game 2 of the doubleheader, the competition was just as fierce, as the teams took a 7-7 tie through 7 innings before officials suspended the game due to darkness. This contest will resume in the 8th inning on Monday, April 9.
Weather permitting, the Vikings' next games are on Friday, April 6, when they host Lehigh Carbon Community College for a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
