Toms River, NJ - OCC Vikings Women's Softball (17-19) fell in the 1st round of the NJCAA Region XIX Playoffs to the Cougars of Camden County College, 2 games to 1 in a best-of-three series.
GAME 1: Ocean suffers a tough 3-2 loss. Monica Brignola hit 2-4 with a run scored, and Gabby Loffredo laced a 2-out, 2-run single for OCC's only 2 runs of the game.
GAME 2: The Vikings bounced back to tie the series 1-1 with this thrilling, 7-5 victory. Shea Branda blasted a bases-clearing double in the 4th inning, and was driven in by Sam Lanzano's triple in the next at-bat.
GAME 3: This was a tough outing all the way around for Ocean, who lost this decisive Game 3 by a 4-1 final score. Shea Branda provided an RBI single in the bottom of the 3rd inning to drive home the Vikings' only run of the game.
The Vikings finish the season with a 17-19 overall record, 7-6 in the Garden State Athletic Conference.
