Toms River, NJ - The Vikings traveled to upstate NY on Saturday to meet the defending Region XIX champion Hornets of SUNY Broome CC. Ocean showed tremendous heart in the match, fighting back from single goal deficits twice courtesy of scores from Vikings freshmen Alexis Novotny and Emily Molitor (both assisted by Maria Rojas), but a third Broome goal from Allison O'Shea in the 59th minute of the second half managed to put the win just out of reach for Ocean.
The Vikings will regroup and look to pick up a win at home on September 12, when they take on Burlington CC at 4 p.m.
