OCC Women's Soccer Remains Undefeated, Takes Down #4-Ranked RCSJ Gloucester, 2-1

Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College's women's soccer team picked up their 3rd straight win to begin their season with a 2-1 victory against the nationally-ranked #4 RCSJ Gloucester Roadrunners on Tuesday (9/20).

The Vikings were firing on all cylinders in this match, bouncing back from an early Roadrunner lead to score two unanswered goals. Ocean freshman Marquella Boutsikaris tied the game with her 2nd goal of the season (assisted by Juliana Rettino), followed by Julia Towell's salvo (also assisted by Juliana Rettino) in the 88th minute to put the contest away.

"This was a huge win for the ladies this season, beating the 4th-ranked team in the country, and a huge moment for the program overall within the last couple of years," reflected OCC Women's Soccer Head Coach Breeana Cassidy. "The team played until the final whistle and were able to capitalize on their opportunities. Each player contributed to a great team victory."

The red-hot Vikings return to the pitch on Saturday, September 24, when they host Lehigh Carbon Community College in a 12 P.M. Region XIX matchup.
