Toms River, NJ - OCC Women's tennis met tough opposition in their 2024 season opener on Tuesday (3/26), falling to the visiting Vikings of Mercer County CC, 6-3. Ocean sophomore 5th singles Hayley O'Neill picked up the sole competitive victory for the Vikings, with a dominating 6-2, 6-1 win versus Jess Buker.

2. Dayana Auquilla (OCC) lost to Valeria Vargas (MCCC) - 0-6, 1-6
3. Larissa Gargano (OCC) lost to Andrea Vasquez (MCCC) - 2-6, 3-6
4. Iris Dyczok (OCC) lost to Makenna Sweeny (MCCC) - 1-6, 2-6
5. Hayley O'Neill (OCC) defeated Jess Buker (MCCC) - 6-2, 6-1
6. Kylie VanNote (OCC) won via forfeit

DOUBLES:

1. Jecas/Auquilla (OCC) lost to Kitio/Vargas (MCCC) - 0-8
2. Gargano/Dyczok (OCC) lost to Vasquez/Sweeny (MCCC) - 1-8

The Vikings return to action on Saturday, March 30, when they head to Brookdale Community College for a 3 P.M. match.
