Lady Vikings Lose in Five Sets to Raritan Valley Community College

Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College Women's Volleyball team was slow to start on Thursday evening during their first GSAC match against Raritan Valley Community College. Although the Vikings lost the first two sets of the night, they still accumulated an impressive 13 kills and 4 blocks. They rallied back in sets three and four with all hitters on point, racking up 20 kills. Raritan Valley CC came out strong in game five with 7 kills and 2 blocks to Ocean's four kills and two blocks to win the final game, 15-11. Vikings sophomore Erin Dellane and freshman Pascal El-Khouri came up big on the defensive end to keep the Vikings in the match, while freshman Rebecca Bryant and sophomore Savanna Oliverio performed admirably on the offensive side for the Vikings, with crucial kills that drove the evening into a fifth set.

The Vikings (1-2) will look to return to the win column in their next contest on Saturday, September 9, when they travel to Passaic County Community College for an 11 a.m. conference matchup.
