Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College Vikings women's volleyball team defeated Bergen Community College in the third game of Saturday's Tri-Match, 3-1. Ocean began the game slowly offensively, and it cost them, with the Bulldogs taking game 1 by a 25-23 final score. The Lady Vikings rallied in game 2 and tallied 17 kills to even the score, with a 27-25 win. In game 3 the Vikings began to assert control, dominating Bergen with 10 kills and 5 service aces, winning 24-11. In the fourth and final game, the Vikings brought 10 kills en route to a 25-14 win. The victory gives the Vikings their fourth conference win, and raises their record to 5-3 overall.
The Vikings next embark on a road trip, playing four straight games away from the cozy confines of Ocean County College. Their first game on this trip will be on Tuesday, September 19, when they visit Raritan Valley Community College for a 7 p.m. match.
