Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College Vikings women's volleyball team (17-3) wrapped up their regular season with a hard-fought, 3-2 win against PA's Montgomery County Community College. The win marked the Vikings' 13th straight win, and 17th overall. Ocean hit hard in the first set, stunning Montgomery with 12 kills and 6 service aces. The second set slipped out of reach, with a 25-23 Montgomery win, despite Ocean's 12 kills. Set three also slipped by, 25-21, with another 12 kills and three service aces from the Vikings. The team rallied back in set 4 with 15 kills, capturing a 25-14 win. Finally, after being down 2-0 in the fifth set, the Vikings fought hard to win, 15-11 and take their final regular season game, 3-2.
The Vikings are seeded third in the NJCAA Region XIX Playoff Tournament, and will lock horns with visiting Bucks County Community College on Saturday, October 14 at 12 p.m. Go Vikings!
