OCC Volleyball Swept by Harrisburg Area CC in Season Opener, 3-0

Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College Volleyball opened their 2019-20 season on the road on Tuesday (9/3), taking on PA's Harrisburg Area Community College. Through a potent combination of strong hitting and consistent serving, the Hawks proved too much for the Vikings to handle, sweeping Ocean by a 3-0 score.

The Vikings lost ground early and made costly errors, allowing their opponent to dominate the match. Ocean's defensive specialists struggled on the serve/receive, and were unable to get their offense rolling. Samantha Rose (OCC's setter last season) earned two kills as an opposite hitter, and former hitter Jenna Kulinski debuted at middle, earning two blocks and one kill, making her presence known, but it wasn't enough to spark the young Vikings to victory.

OCC Vikings Volleyball returns to action on Thursday, September 5th, when they host GSAC rival Atlantic Cape Community College in a 7 p.m. match.
