OCC Women's Volleyball Tops Atlantic Cape CC in 5-Set Battle, 3-2

Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College women's volleyball team improved to an overall record of 8-5 after a gritty 3-2 road win against the Buccaneers of Atlantic Cape Community College.

The match was a see-saw battle, with Cape taking the lead with a 25-19 1st set. Ocean took the next 2, and the Bucs answered with a demonstrative 25-10 4th, but the Vikings dug deep and found a way to take the match-deciding 5th set by a 15-13 score to secure the win.

"We were a bit inconsistent, but we made the plays we needed to," reflected OCC Women's Volleyball Head Coach Alexis Whitney. "Krista had a great 4th set, and we played as a team when it counted."

The Vikings return to the court on Wednesday, October 12, when they travel to RCSJ Gloucester for a 7 P.M. GSAC Conference match against the Roadrunners.
