OCC Women's Volleyball Sweeps Roadrunners, 3-0

Toms River, NJ - OCC Vikings Women's Volleyball continued their hot streak to start the 2024 season, picking up a win on Monday (9/9) versus the visiting Roadrunners of RCSJ Gloucester to improve to 3-0 overall.

The Vikings, who have lost just one set through their 1st three matches, closed out the Runners with set scores of 25-12, 25-17, and 25-11. The team was powered by strong serves from TaraLynn Charland, Abby Szuba, Anna Malandro, and Angie Matthews, along with great swings by Claudia Cosme.

The Vikings struggled defensively in the 2nd set, a factor that led head coach Alexis Whitney to state, "Going forward, we'll need to play more to our maximum ability. We seem to have a tendency to sit back and let the game come to us, when we should be driving it."

Ocean will seek their 4th consecutive win on Thursday, September 12, when they travel to Raritan Valley CC for a 7 P.M. match against the Lions.
