Vikings Lose Fifth Straight in Doubleheader Defeat by Rowan College at Burlington County

Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College Baseball team's losing streak has reached five games, as the Vikings were swept in a doubleheader by Rowan College at Burlington County on Wednesday (4/12), with final scores of 8-3 (Game 1) and 9-8 (Game 2). The Vikings played into extra innings for the third time in four games, but were not able to capitalize upon the extended opportunities. Base running errors continue to contribute to the team's downfall, as they now move into the heart of the region/conference schedule in the next two weeks.

Sophomore third baseman Tom Pulcine has been the only consistent hitter for the Vikings, and remained so in this doubleheader, going 4-6 with a double and an RBI. Designated hitter Juan Nunez was also a bright spot, collecting 3 hits in the second game of the twinbill.

The Vikings now stand at 11-11 overall, and enter an important three game series with GSAC rival Camden County College (15-15), playing at Camden for the first game (Friday, 4/14 at 3:30 p.m.) before returning home for a Saturday (4/15) doubleheader. First pitch is at 12:00 p.m.
