Toms River, NJ - The OCC Vikings baseball team picked up their biggest win of the season in a 6-4 win against the nationally-ranked #2 Dukes of RCSJ Cumberland on Saturday (4/16).
Ocean sophomore pitcher Bart Goble pitched a complete game, striking out 8 in a very strong effort, while numerous Vikings provided strong offensive games in the victory. Ocean freshman leadoff hitter Alex Alonso went 3 for 3 with a double and 2 runs scored, while sophomore Mike Brunner hit 3 for 4 with 3 RBI. Freshman Troy Bathmann's home run in the bottom of the 5th electrified the home crowd, as the Vikings held their own against the national powerhouse.
Ocean returns to action on Tuesday, April 19, when they travel to Montgomery County Community College to take on the Broncos in a 3:30 P.M. matchup.
