OCC Vikings Baseball Rallies to Win Season Opener

Toms River, NJ - The OCC Baseball team came back from a 8-1 deficit against Region 19 powerhouse RCSJ Cumberland to win their season opener on Thursday (3/9), 13-8. Trailing 8-1 in the 5th inning, the Vikings rallied to tie the game in the 6th with 2 RBI doubles from sophomore Trevor Coltenback freshman Devon Smith to break the stalemate. Freshman Ryan Bilello picked up his first collegiate victory, throwing a 2-hitter in 4 innings of work.

Top hitters for Ocean were freshman Donnie Kirk (2 hits - 3 RBI), and freshman Rian O'Rourke (2 hits - 2 RBI), along with multiple hits from sophomore Eli McEwan and freshman Colin Matuschat.
 
Next on the schedule for the Vikings is a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for their annual southern trip, where they will open with a doubleheader against Community College of Rhode Island on March 16.
