OCC Vikings Baseball Blasts Past Delaware County CC

Toms River, NJ - OCC Baseball improved to 6-4 overall this season following a doubleheader sweep of Delaware County CC on Tuesday (3/19).

GAME 1: Ocean CC defeats Delaware County CC, 23-0

Ocean lefthander Luke Corcoran went the distance in game 1, striking out 8 and allowing 5 hits over 7 innings, while the Vikings' offense was in explosive form, with designated hitter Anthony Palmieri batting 3 for 5 with 4 RBI and catcher AJ Pierson belting 2 doubles, a triple, and driving in 2 runs. Newly-minted GSAC Player of the Week Ryan Ushock continued his red-hot performance this season, blasting his 3rd home run of the season in this explosive win.   

GAME 2: Ocean CC defeats Delaware County CC, 20-0

OCC's offense remained potent in the 2nd game of this matchup, plastering the Phantoms with 20 runs while continuing to stifle Delaware at the plate. Anthony Bilello picked up his 1st win of the season on the mound, striking out 6 through his 6-inning performance before sophomore hurler Ryan Preston came on in the 7th for the close out. OCC sophomore shortstop Evan Hill laced a 2-run triple and turned a fantastic double play on defense en route to his best game of his Ocean career. AJ Pierson blasted a 2-run double in game 2, giving him 6 RBI through the doubleheader.

The Vikings return to the field on Friday, March 22, when they head to host Kean University to face the Owls of Union College in a single game, beginning at 2 P.M.
