Toms River, NJ - With a tie score going into the 4th quarter, Vikings outscored Middlesex 32 to 16 earning them a 96-80 victory to clinch the Region XIX Title. Leading the team to victory was Karen Nicole Carney scoring 24 points, who also earned the honor of tournament MVP, Nicole Gardner scoring 20 points, Aliyah Pana and April Szymczyk both contributing 18 points, and Lauren Lamastra scoring 15 points. Coach Kathryn Lamastra recieved the Region XIX Coach of the Year award to add on to a great region championship victory. Vikings will compete in the NJCAA National Tournament March 10th through 12th where they will compete with 8 teams for a national title. All games will be played at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ.
