Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College's women's basketball team slipped to an overall record of 6-16 following a tough 53-44 loss on the road at RCSJ Cumberland on Saturday (2/8).
Ocean's dynamic duo of freshmen Brooke Schmidt and Tatiana Hernandez combined for the lion's share of Viking points in this matchup, with Schmidt scoring 20 and pulling down 14 rebounds, along with 4 steals, and Hernandez contributing 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists in the loss. Freshman guard Clairissa Joseph was also a bright spot for Ocean today, matching her season-high with 19 rebounds.
The Vikings have just 2 games remaining in their regular season, the 1st of which will be a 5 P.M. road game against Brookdale CC on Thursday, February 13.
