Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College Women's Basketball freshman Jordan Viggiano earned a double-double (27 points, 16 rebounds) in her 5th consecutive game, while freshman center Nicole Garrabrants pulled down 11 rebounds in the Vikings' 74-46 loss to Brookdale Community College on Thursday (December 9).
Competition was fierce through the 1st quarter of this heated GSAC Conference matchup, but a tough 2nd frame in which the Vikings were outscored 18-5 allowed the Jersey Blues to establish a lead which Ocean was unable to overcome. Ocean freshman Gia Garcia contributed 10 points in the loss but ran into foul trouble at game's end, resulting in the Vikings fielding 4 players for the contest's closing minutes.
The ladies will regroup and try for their 1st win of the season on Saturday, December 11, when they host Montgomery County Community College in a 12 P.M. GSAC/EPAC battle.
