Toms River, NJ - OCC Women's Basketball freshman Jordan Viggiano scored 33 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, while sophomore Nikki Lozito added 18 points and grabbed 8 steals in the Vikings' 66-58 loss to the visiting Mustangs of Montgomery County CC on Saturday (Dec. 11). Viggiano has been a force to be reckoned with on both sides of the ball this season. She is currently ranked 4th nationally in rebounds per game (15), and 11th in points per game (19.7).
The Vikings broke out of the proverbial gate early, establishing a 15-9 lead over the Mustangs as the 1st quarter drew to a close, but were undone in part by shot selection and execution, shooting 19 of 67 from the field (5 for 22 from 3-point range), allowing Montgomery to escape with a win.
The Vikings return to action on Saturday, December 18, when they head to Middlesex College to meet the Blue Colts for a 12 P.M. GSAC conference showdown.
