Toms River, NJ - OCC Women's Soccer improved to 2-2 on the season with a commanding 7-0 shutout of the visiting Golden Lions of Raritan Valley Community College.
Ocean freshman Jordan Viggiano led the way for the Vikings' offense, scoring goals in the 10th (assisted by Alexis Connor) and 15th (assisted by Hannah Olexa) minutes. Jordan's 5 goals and 11 points on the season lead the team in both statistical categories. The Vikings continued to press through the match's 1st half, with Alexis Connor (unassisted), Denise Bautista (assisted by Molly Herr), Hannah Olexa (unassisted), and Kelly Favato (assisted by Alexis Connor) expanding the team's lead to 6-0. Molly Herr (assisted by Kelly Favato) added the team's 7th score in the 88th minute of play, while OCC goalkeeper Emily Hester made 2 saves in the win.
The Vikings return to action on Thursday, September 30, when they host the Union County College Owls in a Region 19 matchup.
