OCC Women's Soccer Blanks Bergen, 5-0, Improves to 3-0 on Season

Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College Women's Soccer extended their unbeaten streak to 3 games to start the season following a 5-0 shutout at home versus the visiting Bulldogs of Bergen Community College.

OCC sophomore midfielder Natalie Christie opened Ocean scoring early in the 1st half, converting a pass from Erin Cox, with Cox then turning around and scoring in the 11th minute (assisted by Alyssa Maisano). The Vikings controlled this match from start to finish, rarely allowing Bergen out of their half of the pitch, with just one shot on goal reaching Madison Todd through 90 minutes. Sophomore Alyssa Duff closed out Viking scoring in the 1st half (assisted by Danna Munoz), and the team continued pouring it on after halftime, with Alyssa Maisano (assisted by Danna Munoz) adding a goal before freshman forward Leilani Borges took advantage of a pileup in front of Bergen's net to put through Ocean's 5th and final score (assisted by Natalie Christie).

The Vikings will return to action with another home match on Tuesday, September 17 at 4 P.M., when they welcome Atlantic Cape CC to Toms River.
