Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College women's volleyball team (8-2) picked up their 8th win of the season in a 3-0 sweep of Middlesex County College on Thursday (9/20). Looking to return to the win column after a tough 5-set loss to Raritan Valley Community College on Tuesday, the Vikings dominated Middlesex's court from the outset. Ocean freshmen Gabriella Figueroa and Ashley Stickle were strong hitters, while Adriana Acevedo provided great serving. On the other side of the ball, Kirstyn Smith helped keep Middlesex from mounting an offensive charge through some outstanding play as a defensive specialist.
The Vikings return to action on Saturday, September 22nd, when they travel to Northampton Community College to take on the perennially tough Spartans.
