Toms River, NJ - The nationally-ranked #10 OCC Vikings Men's Soccer team launched their 2022-23 campaign in strong fashion, with a blistering 5-0 shutout road win at RCSJ Cumberland on Thursday (9/8).

Ocean freshman forward Danny Lindov opened Ocean scoring with a tally in the 7th minute (assisted by Johnny Hart), with freshman Kerem Satar expanding the lead in the 16th minute with an Alexander Granda-assisted goal. Team captain Johnny Hart followed in the 30th (assist by Danny Lindov) to put Ocean in the proverbial driver's seat. The Vikings employed an aggressive offensive attack throughout the match, outshooting the Dukes, 14-5. Freshman forward Preston Kyriakoulis placed the match further from Cumberland's grasp in the 50th minute, with a goal scored via penalty kick, while Alexander Granda returned to the scoresheet with Ocean's 5th and final goal of the evening (assisted by Stephen Ferebee) in the 64th minute.

Ocean freshman goalkeeper Dawson Kaniuk impressed between the pipes in his collegiate debut, making 5 saves to earn his 1st win. Dawson's diving stop of a Cumberland penalty kick attempt secured the Ocean shutout, and put the Toms River, NJ native's talent on full display.

The Vikings return to the pitch on Saturday, September 10, when they welcome the Blue Colts of Middlesex College to OCC Stadium for a 12 P.M. Garden State Athletic Conference matchup.
