Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College Volleyball improved their overall record to 11-3 (8-2 in GSAC) with a thrilling 3-2 victory against Rowan College at Gloucester County.
Ocean were very slow to start and lost the first set, 25-12. As the two middle hitters warmed up, Taylor Jackson and Pascal El-Khouri began to hit around the Roadrunners middle for a few key kills, taking the 2nd set 25-22. But the Roadrunners came back determined and managed to take the match's 3rd set, 25-20. The Vikings warmed up in the 4th and dominated for a 25-9 win before powering through the 5th set, 15-9 for the 3-2 win. El-Khouri racked up 15 kills for the game, while Gabriella Figueroa was consistent while serving and hit her defensive coverage effectively. Sophomore libero Gianna Addalli had 25 digs in the game.
The Vikings next move on to host Middlesex County College on Saturday, October 6th at 12 p.m.
